Five-Hour Online Training on

“Financial Safety”

In today’s rapidly digitizing economy, financial safety has emerged as an essential life skill and institutional priority. The proliferation of online transactions, digital banking, and e-commerce platforms has transformed how individuals, families, and organizations manage and access money. From salary disbursements to student fee payments and educational grants, financial processes are increasingly mediated through digital systems. However, this transformation also exposes users to vulnerabilities such as fraud, identity theft, phishing scams, and unauthorized transactions. Within this context, financial safety is not merely a matter of individual prudence but a shared educational and institutional responsibility to ensure trust, transparency, and resilience in the digital financial ecosystem.

The rise in cyber-enabled financial crimes underscores the urgency of equipping educators, students, and administrators with both technical awareness and critical judgment. Threats such as fake investment schemes, OTP-based frauds, data leaks, and social engineering attacks can erode financial stability and personal confidence. Preventive measures such as verifying digital payment sources, adopting secure banking practices, using strong authentication, and recognizing red flags in online communications must therefore become habitual components of digital literacy. Equally vital is cultivating a culture of caution and accountability, where individuals are empowered to act responsibly while engaging with financial technologies.

While individual vigilance forms the first line of defense, financial safety must be institutionalized through systematic policies, secure payment frameworks, and transparent financial practices in educational environments. Institutions should not only safeguard their financial transactions through encryption, audits, and multi-layered authentication but also serve as role models in promoting ethical and secure financial behavior. Nurturing financial awareness across all levels: students, teachers, and administrative staff, helps in embedding a culture of financial integrity, where awareness, prevention, and informed action become integral to day-to-day decision-making.

This online training programme on “Financial Safety” seeks to address these crucial dimensions by building the professional competence of educators, school leaders, and administrative professionals. Through conceptual exploration and hands-on demonstrations, participants will gain insights into recognizing financial frauds, adopting secure digital payment methods, and fostering awareness within their institutional communities. The programme emphasizes that financial literacy today extends beyond managing money, it includes understanding the mechanisms that keep digital financial systems secure and reliable.

Aligned with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, this five-day online training programme organized by CIET-NCERT in collaboration with Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C), Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), aims to enhance financial literacy and promote safe financial practices among educators and learners alike. The training highlights financial safety as a fundamental aspect of digital citizenship, empowering participants to safeguard personal and institutional financial data while supporting a secure, transparent, and future-ready educational ecosystem.

The English version of the training will be held from 03 - 07 November 2025, with live sessions scheduled daily from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

The sessions will be broadcast live on NCERT’s Official YouTube Channel and simulcast on PM eVidya DTH TV Channels (6-12) and the Jio TV mobile application.
